The Cubs and White Sox meet for the third time this spring.

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — I’m not going to this game. First, the Camelback Ranch parking/traffic situation is still a nightmare. Second, this is the third time these teams have met this spring. We’ll see enough of them this regular season (six times). So I’ll watch it on TV (details below).

Ryan Court has hit quite well this spring (.364/.447/.697, 12-for-33, three home runs) and has played just about everywhere. There’s obviously no room for him on the 25-man roster but he’s hoping to become the guy at Iowa who’s called up in case of injury. That would be great for Court, who grew up a Cubs fan:

“I’m a Cubs fan for life,” Court said. “I went to the parade for the World Series. I caught the 7 a.m. train and went down to the city.”

He and his father were in the throng along Michigan Avenue near the Chicago River, then decided it was so crowded, they’d rather watch the celebration on a television in a bar.

And after spending last season with the Red Sox’s Triple-A team, then playing in the Dominican Republic this winter, Court decided he was going to play for the Cubs.

”I knew that’s where I wanted to go,” Court said. “Talking to the front office, it was a no-brainer for me. I’m 29, I don’t have any big league time. If I’m going to make the big leagues, I want to earn it.”

I’ll be rooting for him to make it.

Here are today’s particulars.

Cubs lineup:

Happ LF, La Stella 2B, Contreras C, Navarro 1B, Almora CF, Freeman SS, Bourjos RF, Court 3B, Darvish P

Seems I’m not the only one who doesn’t want to make the long ride to Camelback Ranch.

White Sox lineup:

Moncada 2B, Garcia RF, Abreu 1B, Davidson DH, Delmonico LF, Castillo C, Anderson SS, Sanchez 3B, Engel CF

That very well could be the Sox’ Opening Day lineup.

Fun lineup fact of the day:

Yu Darvish will start for the Cubs. Brandon Morrow, Brian Duensing and Justin Hancock are on the Cubs reliever list for today.

Reynaldo Lopez gets the call for the White Sox. Other Sox pitchers today include Gregory Infante, Chris Beck, Robbie Ross Jr., Xavier Cedeno, Brian Clark and our old friend Chris Volstad.

Today’s game is on cubs.com with Len Kasper and Mick Gillispie. It will also be on NBC Sports Chicago with the Sox announcers, and that broadcast will be carried live on MLB Network outside the Chicago market.

MLB.com Gameday

Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn't usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season -- usually, it will update after each at-bat.

Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.

Please visit our SB Nation White Sox site South Side Sox. If you do go there to interact with White Sox fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.

For spring-training games, we'll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 3 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT.

These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked "Chicago Cubs Game Threads" at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.

Discuss amongst yourselves.
