Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs were shut out by the Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals), 3-0.
Cubs starter Alec Mills gave up three runs in the top of the first inning and no one else scored the rest of the game. Mills went seven innings and allowed seven hits, including a two-run home run in the first. Mills struck out three and did not walk anyone.

Tennessee Smokies
The Tennessee Smokies butterflied the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Marlins), 2-1.
Thomas Hatch improved his record to 2-0 after he allowed just one run on three hits over five innings. He did struggle with control, however, as he walked five and hit one batter. But Hatch did strike out five.
Dakota Mekkes was perfect in the top of the ninth for his third save. He struck out two.
Right fielder Jeffrey Baez hit his third home run in four games with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. It was also his third home run this season. Baez was 1 for 3.
