Every year, BCB publishes a list of the Cubs walk-up songs, and the selections are often surprising. Frankly, I’m sad Willson Contreras has abandoned his use of Pharoah Monch’s “Simon Says” with it’s distinctive gritty beat and lyrics so profane they need to cut the music before a single line is sung.
There’s Ben Zobrist, who always reps his wife Julianna, with her tune “Benny and the Jules.” Otherwise it’s a mish-mash of hip hop, country, and Anthony Rizzo jamming out to Taylor Swift.
But have you ever listened to the songs guys are using and thought, “I don’t know what this is, and I could pick a better song for this guy.”
Now is your chance. We want to know what walk-up music you would pick for each Cubs player. You don’t need to do them all, but try to pick at least two or three guys, and explain why you’re picking that song. Bonus points if you pick your own walk-up song (mine would be Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”).
Head over to the FanPosts section, select “New FanPost” on the left, and play DJ for the Cubbies, by picking new and improved walk-up songs for them.
