FanPost Friday: Which Cubs player were you most wrong about?

Sometimes we’re all a little quick to judge.

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at Chicago Cubs Jim Young-USA TODAY Sports

Fans of any professional sports franchise are the quickest to bring down judgement on a new arrival. Whether it’s the new exciting prospect you hope will be amazing, or the guy picked up in a trade for your most beloved player who you think will stink up the joint, we’re all guilty of judging a new player.

In this week’s FanPost prompt, we’re going to ask you to think back to which newly acquired player, or perhaps guy on an early streak/slump who you might have had a clouded opinion about too soon. Maybe it was a guy who started the season with a .140 average and ended up knocking in 15 home runs before it was all said and done. Or perhaps an exciting pitcher the team traded for just couldn’t make it work no matter what, leading to a losing season (and several more to follow).

We can be wrong in both directions. Sometimes the person we expect to see fail will blow us away with their accomplishments, while the guy we wanted the world from will make a downward slide towards retirement.

Head over to the FanPosts section and select “New FanPost” on the left, then tell us which Cubs player you were most wrong about and why.
