We all have a most-loved player. Baseball players aren’t like our kids, there are absolutely ones we love more than others, and ones who hold a special place in our hearts even after they retire or move on to other teams.
This week’s FanPost prompt might seem easy on the surface, but there’s a little more to it. Who is the greatest Chicago Cubs player of all time? That’s a big question. Do you pick someone fresh-faced and part of the World Series winning team, like Kris Bryant (may he return swiftly) or Anthony Rizzo? Do you pick a plucky fun type, someone who won’t be in the Hall of Fame but was just a blast to watch on the field? Or, perhaps, you might select one of the real greats, the Cubs who will live on through history as hallmarks of the team.
That decision is entirely up to you. And to make it a bit easier, you can choose up to a Top 5 of all-time greats. But you have to explain your picks. Don’t just list them, tell us WHY you picked them. Especially if they’re an unconventional choice (those are truly the best).
Head on over to the FanPosts section, select “New FanPost” on the left, and start parsing through over a hundred years of Cubs players to decide who deserves the title of “Best of the Best.”
