FanPost Friday: Which team would you be okay trading a beloved player to?

Sometimes you just can’t cheer for the new team no matter what.

It’s never easy when your favorite player gets traded. And the longer you’re a fan, the more you realize the inevitability of trades, but also you kind of hate all the outdated jerseys hanging in your closet.

For me, as a Cubs fan and a Tigers fan, sometimes things work out. In 2017 my beloved Alex Avila was traded to the Cubs. Instantly I knew I could keep cheering for him without skipping a beat. Had he been moved somewhere else, like the Yankees per se, I would have had a much harder time accepting it, and I certainly wouldn’t have bought a new shirsey with his name on it.

As players age and teams start to focus on the future, it becomes more and more likely to see some of our current faves moved on to new clubs. And just like you, I choose to imagine a world in which Rizzo, Bryant, and Baez are Cubbies for life, but the reality is, at someone point someone will wear a new team’s colors.

So, with that in mind, our FanPost prompt this week asks: which team would you be most okay with seeing your favorite player traded to, and why?

Head over to the FanPost section, select “New FanPost” on the left, and tell us who you’d move, and where.
