Yes, I know that’s a clickbait headline. It worked, right?
Anyway, we are all waiting for Major League Baseball to do the right thing and reschedule Thursday’s game in Washington, either moving it to another city or to October 1 in D.C.
While we wait, the Cubs have announced another schedule change:
Mark your calendars: The Sept. 29 #Cubs game vs. the Cards will begin at 12:05 pm CT at Wrigley Field. It had been listed as "TBD" and has now been selected for a national telecast by FOX
— Carrie Muskat (@CarrieMuskat) September 11, 2018
That means the final series at home vs. the Cardinals will be scheduled this way:
Friday 9/28: 1:20 p.m. CT
Saturday 9/29: 12:05 p.m. CT
Sunday 9/30: 2:20 p.m. CT
The other four games on the final homestand of the season, all against the Pirates, are all 7:05 p.m. CT starts.
Let’s hope there’s no need for the Cubs to play on Monday, October 1, and that they will have clinched a division title and their next game after September 30 will be Game 1 of a National League Division Series against an opponent to be determined, possibly even the Cardinals again, if they’re a wild card and win the wild-card game.
I’ll post any information I receive about the Washington game Thursday as soon as it arrives. As always, we await developments.
