Here’s your chance to register for a Cubs postseason ticket opportunity

It’ll cost some money, but the $ is applicable to a ticket purchase if you get chosen, refunded if you don’t.

With Cubs postseason play in 2018 becoming closer to a reality, the Cubs Friday announced details on how you can get an opportunity to purchase postseason tickets.

Without further ado, here are the details.

Beginning today at noon CT until next Friday, September 21 at noon CT, you can register for a random drawing to win a chance to purchase single game postseason tickets for a potential Wild Card Game and National League Division Series games (you must be over 18 and a US resident). Registration cut-off times for future potential rounds are available at this link.

You have to complete the online form and submit a one-time refundable deposit of $50 in an effort to verify authenticity of each entry and the genuine interest to attend postseason games. The $50 deposit may be applied to the ticket purchase, if applicable, or will be refunded at the conclusion of the postseason.

If you have been selected for an opportunity, you’ll be notified by email. Those who are randomly selected from all eligible registrants will have a one-time chance to purchase a maximum of four tickets, pending availability, among available games. Tickets will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.

All registered fans who are not selected or do not complete a purchase for early postseason contests will remain eligible for selection if the Cubs advance to subsequent rounds. You will only be able to purchase tickets once during the postseason. Important: Being selected in a drawing does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase tickets to a postseason game.

This year, all Cubs postseason tickets will be sent only via the MLB Ballpark app, no hard tickets at all. This also applies to those of us who are season-ticket holders, though we have been told we’ll be sent commemorative hard tickets after the postseason ends.

Good luck!
