New website with lots of baseball documents

Late last season, someone made a veiled objection to the number of posts I was making in the Game Preview thread, suggesting I should get a website of my own.

As of today, I have one: https://johnwsports.weebly.com/

I have not yet posted any of my Cub-centric posts that still are relevant today, but I have posted more than 2 dozen posts that contain descriptions of other baseball and multi-sport projects, with links to download PDFs of each.

These range from 1- to 3-page discussions, to a book-length history of the playoffs in MLB, the NBA, the NFL and the NHL.

There are 4 related projects about underdogs and Wild Card teams in the playoffs.

There are 3 related projects about the conditions under which Babe Ruth, Roger Maris and Mark McGwire broke the home run records.

There are 3 related projects about the frequency of each specific pattern of wins by visiting and home teams in the history of the LDS, LCS and World Series.

And there is All-Time Standings: I figured out the all-time winning percentage of each team in all 4 sports, then calculated what the standings would be if each team in a sport played a full season's schedule at that percentage. Finally, I determined what the standings would look like if every team in every sport played a 162-game schedule at their percentage.

For example, over their histories, the Cubs have the same record (i.e., same winning percentage) as the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA, and the Dallas Stars of the NHL.

Of 123 teams in the 4 sports, only 1 has a winning percentage of .600 or above, and only 1 has a winning percentage below .400.

Again, the website is: https://johnwsports.weebly.com/

Enjoy!
