Very disappointing across the board. Pretty much every other team in our division made significant moves--might well be the best division in baseball in 2019. We made none. Addy situation a true stain on management. A near complete reboot of the coaching staff--very little organizational continuity. Morrow already a question mark for 2019. Minor league system still not close to having the cupboard restocked.
The decisions by the FO in the offseason are not those of a strong, rich organization wishing to compete at the highest levels--more of a small market team stymied by forces outside of its control.
I guess the ownership is OK with taking the $$ of those who attended Cubs Convention without owning up to its decisions by speaking with selfsame fans.
Sad to have to write this and I hope we'll have plenty of reasons to celebrate in 2019. But we are squandering a big opportunity in the not too lengthy window we have left open for ourselves.
