So little news, so much time. So much quest for relevance in a world where the Cubs have fallen off the edge of the world, except for Javier Baez. I guess I’m going to have to ask Santa for a PS4.
The Cubs should by now have done so much reflecting that they can shave in the dark via persistence of vision. Here on the anniversary of the Cubs’ last pennant-winning game, it’s a good time to think about how to get back there (like there’s a bad time).
I was a south side Cubs fan, growing up. I feel this article. It was a lot like that, in the area that featured Midway Airport, the Home Run Inn, the White Owl Indian, and the Bel-Air Drive-in.
Here’s today’s Cubs News and Notes. As always, * means autoplay on, or annoying ads, or both (directions to remove for Firefox and Chrome). {$} means paywall. {$} means limited views. Italics are often used here as sarcasm font.
New painting! After their final game this year Willson reached out and asked me to paint this for him. Pretty clear how much Joe meant to these guys. pic.twitter.com/e2hps28edA

Trade him now! Ha. As if!
Such horrible news about Eric Cooper. Eric, was such a nice guy who I enjoyed talking with and always looked forward to seeing on our umpire crew list for the day. Sending my deepest condolences to his family, friends and his Major League Umpires colleagues. Sad day for the #MLB pic.twitter.com/aC8vlgnkVS
