The Nationals and Astros have returned to Houston for Game 6. As you know, Washington needs to win to force a Game 7.

They are up against some very difficult history:

Here’s what happened in the previous two.

The 1906 World Series, as you know, was between the Cubs and White Sox. It was not played in the current 2-3-2 pattern. Since that series was entirely played within the city of Chicago with no travel necessary, the teams simply alternated parks for all six games. As noted, the visiting team won the first five games before the White Sox won Game 6, clinching the series.

In 1996, the Braves won the first two games at Yankee Stadium, then the Yankees took all three in Atlanta before winning the Series in Game 6 at home.

Thus: No team has ever done what the Nationals must now do in order to win: Down 3-2, win two games on the road.

Here’s hoping they make some history. I’m rooting for the Nats, but beyond that, I’d just like to have a Game 7.

Here’s all the info you’ll need for tonight’s game.
