2019 World Series Game 7: Nationals vs. Astros, Wednesday 10/30, 7 p.m. CT

One game for the championship of Major League Baseball.

As you probably know, these two ballclubs share a spring training complex. The next two games they play after tonight will also be against each other in spring training, February 22 and 23, 2020. Odds are Max Scherzer starts one of those games, too.

These teams might be mighty sick of each other by then.

In the meantime, I’m just happy we got one more game before we put the 2019 season to bed. Game 7’s are always fun when it’s not your team. You certainly remember the tension throughout the Cubs’ Game 7 in 2016. This one, we can simply sit back and enjoy baseball, the last one involving MLB teams in North America until February.

Lastly, if the Nats win, the visiting team will have won every game of this World Series. As you have likely heard, having the road team win the first six games of the series is a first not just for MLB, but for the other two North American Leagues (NBA, NHL) who have a best-of-seven championship series.

Assignment for David Ross and the Cubs: After a 33-48 road record in 2019, figure out how they did that.
