Two games today will determine the NLCS participants.

Today is the last day of the 2019 baseball season on which there will be two games. That’s the bad news. The good news is that they are both winner-take-all games; the victorious teams will meet each other in the National League Championship Series beginning Friday.

The last time both division series in a single league went to a fifth game was 2015, when Royals/Astros and Blue Jays/Rangers ALDS both played winner-take-all games. The last time it happened in the National League was 2012: Cardinals/Nationals and Giants/Reds. That year, all four division series went the distance (also Yankees/Orioles and Tigers/Athletics).

Here’s all the info you’ll need for the decisive Game 5’s of the two N.L. division series, one late this afternoon, the other one this evening. (Yes, I double-checked these game times. They’re correct.)

Game time for Cardinals/Braves: 4 p.m. CT. TV: TBS. Announcers: Brian Anderson and Ron Darling with reporter Lauren Shehadi. Series tied 2-2.

Game time for Nationals/Dodgers: 7:30 p.m. CT. TV: TBS. Announcers: Ernie Johnson and Jeff Francoeur with reporter Alex Chappell. Series tied 2-2.

Pitching matchups:

Jack Flaherty (Cardinals) vs. Mike Foltynewicz (Braves)

Stephen Strasburg (Nationals) vs. Walker Buehler (Dodgers)
