Monday, Major League Baseball announced an All-MLB team, similar to what the NFL has by announcing All-Pros, and you can vote for your favorites.
There will be one per infield position, three outfielders (regardless of position), five starting pitchers and two relievers elected to the All-MLB team, with no division by league — one player will get this honor across both the American and National Leagues.
Cubs who are on the ballot are Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Willson Contreras and Anthony Rizzo. You can vote once every 24 hours through 4 p.m. CT next Tuesday, December 3 at this link. The All-MLB team will be announced Tuesday, December 10 at the Winter Meetings in San Diego. (Couldn’t find a photo with all four Cubs in it, so you’ll have to settle for one without Rizzo.)
Tony Petitti, MLB Deputy Commissioner, Business & Media, said in a statement: “Major League Baseball is pleased to begin a new tradition that will highlight the accomplishments of our great players throughout the entirety of the regular season. We look forward to pairing the participation of fans and many of our sport’s prominent voices in celebrating the year’s best.”
