Possible severe thunderstorms are in the forecast for Chicago as the evening goes on, so the Cubs are being proactive:
Due to the forecast of inclement weather later in the evening, the #Cubs have shifted the start of tonight’s series finale against the Pirates to 6:35 p.m. CT (30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled).

Gates will open at their originally scheduled time of 5:05 p.m.
This is a good idea and something they should consider in the future if a similar situation occurs. Of course, if they had scheduled an afternoon game today, they'd have been able to play with no issues. But this is a good way of trying to beat the storms.
The BCB game preview will still post at its normal time for a night game, 5 p.m. CT. Game threads will have times adjusted for the earlier start, starting with the First Pitch Thread at 6:30 p.m. CT.
