Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Cubs fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

Entering Thursday’s game the Cubs are on a roll, having won 10 of their last 13 games, and the results of our Week 5 (hard to believe we’re already at Week 5, right?) SB Nation FanPulse poll shows confidence in the Cubs increasing:

The Cub confidence percentage jumped from 57 percent to 72 percent this week. Hopefully, wins will continue and next week’s number will be even higher.

Meanwhile, manager Joe Maddon’s confidence rating is at its highest point of the season, rising from 86 percent approval last week to 94 percent this week. Winning will do that for a manager.

We also asked the following question this week about baseball in general:

Just to make things clear, the term “bean” is being used here in its colloquial meaning of “intentionally throwing at a batter” and not intended to mean “hit a batter in the head.” Still, I find myself surprised that as many as 40 percent of voters said “yes” to this question. In my view, it’s never OK to throw at a hitter.
