1. LHP Xavier Cedeno activated from 10-day IL
2. RHP Allen Webster placed on 10-day IL with radial nerve inflammation (right arm)
Allen Webster has a 4.91 ERA and 1.727 WHIP in 10 appearances for the Cubs this year.
Xavier Cedeno was signed as a free agent last offseason but has been on the injured list all year with a wrist injury. He's been on rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa and Double-A Tennessee and has posted a 5.40 ERA and 2.550 WHIP in 10 appearances. As is the usual case for those, though, the process is more important than the results.
Cedeno was an effective reliever for the Brewers and White Sox last year and the Cubs hope they can get that from him.
Cedeno will wear uniform number 45.
