How does fan confidence in the Cubs stack up against the rest of the N.L. Central?

Pretty good, as it turns out.

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Cubs fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

The Cubs are on a roll and your confidence in the team and Joe Maddon is at a season high. For the first time, every SB Nation FanPulse voter in the BCB/Cubs poll said they were confident in Joe Maddon:

Joe got 100 percent of the vote this week, up from 94 percent the last three weeks.

For confidence in the team as a whole, the Cubs are at a season-high 95 percent. How do those numbers compare to the rest of the N.L. Central?

NL Central FanPulse results, Week 8

Team Manager approval Overall confidence
Team Manager approval Overall confidence
Cubs 100% 95%
Brewers 100% 98%
Cardinals 95% 68%
Pirates 67% 20%
Reds 67% 67%

Pirates fans seem a pessimistic lot, with only 20 percent of their FanPulse members having confidence in their team’s direction. And they’ve won nine of their last 14! Apart from that, though, the division poll results reflect the standings reasonably well.

FanPulse members were also asked one general question about baseball:

This is correct, I believe. The issue with baseball today isn’t the length of games, but as I have written many times here, it’s the pace. Unfortunately, Rob Manfred’s tweaks to the game aren’t accomplishing any real change to the pace of play. The one thing they could do to improve this — the pitch clock — has been tabled for now.
