FanPost Friday: Build an all-former Cubs superteam

You get to play GM.

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Chicago Cubs Patrick Gorski-USA TODAY Sports

The Cubs have had an incredible amount of talent take the field at Wrigley over time. Cy Young winners, All-Stars, future Hall of Famers. You name it, the Cubs have had them on a squad (and have some of them on the team as we speak).

One of my favorite things to do is to imagine a dream team. An all-Cubs team made up of the best of the best. And this week, I want you guys to do the same thing.

There are two ways you can go about doing this. The first, is to take any former Cubs from all time. So your team could consist of the likes of Ernie Banks, Fergie Jenkins, and Johnny Evers. The OTHER option, and the one I think is slightly more challenging, is to make a whole team of only former Cubs who are still active.

Whichever way you choose to go about it, pick one player for each position. I’m being generous this year and allowing FIVE starting pitchers, but still only one reliever. So choose wisely.

Shoutout to hawkeye007 for their response to last week’s prompt “Most Memorable Game I Attended.” A LOT of you guys replied to that one and all your memories were incredible.
