Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. Cubs fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.
The Cubs are on a nightmarish road trip in which they have lost five of seven games.
That’s probably the reason for this sharp dive in your confidence in the ballclub, in the results from the latest SB Nation FanPulse survey:

That’s the low point for the season, 40 percent, one point lower than three weeks ago.
68 percent of survey respondents still have confidence in manager Joe Maddon, but that’s the lowest figure for Joe since Week 2 of this survey — and that’s the one that was done after the disastrous 2-7 season-opening road trip.
The Cubs come home Friday, and at Wrigley Field they’re 36-18. How this team can play so well at home — that’s the second-best home record in the N.L. — and so poorly on the road is a mystery to just about everyone connected with the ballclup. They’ll have to figure this out, and soon, in order to win the N.L. Central.
There was also a national question asked of all FanPulse members from all sites. Here’s how that one ended up:

That’s the way I voted, if the Cubs were to obtain someone it should be a pitcher. We’ll see what happens the rest of the day before the deadline.
