Here’s everything you need to know for tonight’s game.
National League lineup:
It’s the second All-Star appearance and start for Javier Baez and Willson Contreras. The Cubs’ Kris Bryant will also appear in the game. I can say that with some certainty, as the managers generally like to get all the players in the game if they can. Bryant is likely to play after the other selected N.L. third-base reserve, Anthony Rendon, announced he will not participate in the game. Rendon was replaced on the N.L. roster by Max Muncy, who does play some third base, but I’d expect Bryant to be the first 3B reserve in the game.
Baez and Contreras will probably play three or four innings, then depart.
American League lineup:
Hyun-Jin Ryu, LHP vs. Justin Verlander, RHP
This is Verlander’s eighth All-Star appearance and second start (2012 in Kansas City was the other). For Ryu, it’s his first. He’ll become the second Asian-born pitcher to start an All-Star Game (Hideo Nomo in Texas, 1995 was the other). Neither pitcher will go more than one inning. None of the Cubs players in this game have ever faced Verlander.
Today’s game is on Fox. Announcers: Joe Buck, John Smoltz, Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci. Pregame coverage begins on FS1 at 6 p.m. CT, moves to Fox at 6:30 p.m. CT and first pitch is expected around 7 p.m. CT.

Next year’s game will be at Dodger Stadium, and in 2021 it’ll be at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. The Cubs have been rumored to want to host an All-Star Game soon, but it’ll be 2022 at the earliest.
This will be the only thread for tonight’s game. Enjoy, and discuss amongst yourselves.
