Cubs 2020 regular season schedule

... which includes a trip to the UK!

As has been previously announced, the Cubs and Cardinals will play two games in London, England in the summer of 2020. Both will be Cardinals home games, so that’s one less trip to St. Louis for the Cubs next season.

The Cubs will play A.L. East teams in interleague play next year. The Red Sox will make their first trip to Wrigley Field since 2012, and the Cubs will play in Baltimore, Toronto and at Yankee Stadium, their first trip to the Bronx since 2014.

The biggest news here is that the Cubs are, as I had hoped, moving the time of weeknight games up to 6:40 p.m. CT in April and May, a good idea in the colder months. Some September night games are also 6:40 starts.

The off days look like they’re pretty well scattered through the year, and the Cubs will finish the season with 10 of their last 12 games at Wrigley Field, including a three-game series against the Cardinals to wrap things up for the 2020 regular season.

The 2020 season will begin Thursday, March 26, which is awfully early — that means nearly a full week of play before April. Bundle up if you’re in a northern city watching any of those games. The Cubs, at least, have an indoor series in Milwaukee before the home opener. March 30 will be the earliest-ever home opener at Wrigley.

Here’s the full schedule. All times are Central and official as announced by MLB January 8, 2020. Home games in boldface.
