FanPost Friday: What makes you a Chicago Cubs fan?

Was it birthright or happenstance?

2019 is a strange year to be a Cubs fan.

The team had a fairly rough start to the season before finding their footing and climbing to the top, where they have seemingly swapped places with either the Brewers or Cardinals week by week. But still, it has been a pretty solid season overall, considering how tight the NL Central has been this year.

It can be both exciting and frustrating being a Cubs fan, but that makes it all the more interesting to find out why makes you one.

It inspires this week’s FanPost prompt, though: how did YOU become a Cubs fan? Did your whole family grow up with the Cubs, or were you raised in a White Sox household and just decided to rebel? Was it a bandwagon move during 2016? (No shame in a bandwagon move). Was it after a player you loved got traded to the team?

We want to know how you became a Cubs fan!

Head over to the FanPost section, select New FanPost on the left, and tell us all about how you joined the Cubs family.
