The eighth Cubs Social Media Night is in the books and every year it feels like they outdo themselves. If you couldn’t make it, I’ve got you covered with some of the highlights from a pretty incredible night at Wrigley Field.

One of the things the Cubs always do a great job with is giveaways. This year was no exception. Check out some of the pins every attendee received below:

In addition to pins there were also these sweet #CubsSocial shirts that showed our friends who run the Cubs social media accounts have a pretty great sense of humor:

In addition to the swag, the Cubs took some time to get to know all of their attendees. If you’re looking for something to listen to this afternoon, be sure to check out this Spotify channel featuring attendees walk-up songs. By all means let me know if you figured out mine in the comments:

They also created a mosaic from pictures tweeted at the account that turned out really cool. If you happen to be in the area check it out and see if your picture made the piece!

There were also games, raffles and prizes. Keep your eye on the Cubs YouTube channel for trivia, you may see my partner in podcasting Andi Cruz Vanecek there! In addition to smaller prizes that included signed baseballs, jerseys, and bobbleheads the grand prize was the chance to throw out the first pitch before the game:

Some of the real highlights of the night were shoutouts from the players for some of their most dedicated fans. Spoiler alert: no, I have not gotten a shoutout from Willson Contreras...yet, but these were still pretty cool:

At the end of the day Cubs Social Media night is a hit because of the team and the fans. It’s always a blast to meet up with people I already feel like I know from the internet. Quite a few people referred to the event as “Cubs Twitter Prom.” If you’re looking for some great people who love this team to follow as the #Cubs finish up 2019, just scroll through the #CubsSocial hashtag and add some new friends. I promise, you won’t regret it.
