Cubs announce spring training single-game ticket sale details

Here’s the info you’ll need for online, phone and in-person ticket buying

Al Yellon

The Cubs’ first spring training game of 2020 will be six weeks from this Saturday, and Wednesday, the Cubs announced details of single-game sales for all 17 games at Sloan Park this spring.

You can buy tickets at Sloan Park, which is located at 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway in Mesa, Arizona beginning at 10 a.m. MT Saturday, January 11. Box-office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT, Monday through Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. MT, with extended hours on gamedays to accommodate night and Sunday home games. At the same time tickets go on sale at the box office, you can buy them online at cubs.com or by phone at 1-800-THE-CUBS (800-843-2827). There is a limit of eight tickets per game and a maximum of eight games per order.

If you are interested in tickets to specific games and you want to get them one day earlier than the general on-sale, there will be a Mastercard Presale beginning Friday, January 10 at 10 a.m. MT/11 a.m. CT. The presale will run through 10:59 p.m. MT/11:59 p.m. CT. If you use a Mastercard you can buy single game spring training tickets in advance of the general on-sale at a 15 percent premium in excess of face value, while other forms of payment will require a 20 percent premium. A limited number of tickets will be made available to each home game for the Mastercard Presale.

It will be interesting to see how ticket sales go this spring, given the team’s lack of offseason moves and the fact that the schedule has its earliest-ever start, February 22. Four of the 17 games are before March 1. Last year, it snowed in parts of the Phoenix area the last week of February. Hopefully, 2020 will be warmer.
