The last time both LCS went seven games was 2004, before that 2003, and before that... never, since the LCS was expanded to seven games in 1985. That’s twice in 35 seasons before this year.
So you’re seeing a bit of history tonight. Enjoy!
Here’s all the info you’ll need for today’s game.
Braves vs. Dodgers at Globe Life Field, 7:15 p.m. CT
Series tied 3-3.
Ian Anderson, RHP vs. Dustin May, RHP
In regard to May:
Dustin May, the #Dodgers Game 7 starter, has had one day of rest since throwing 55 pitches over 2 innings in his Game 5 start. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Short-rest starts in the postseason often don’t work out well. Hank Borowy of the Cubs did it in Game 7 in 1945 after throwing four innings in relief in Game 6, and got lit up.
On the other hand:
Dustin May is starting NLCS Game 7 on 1 day of rest after a 2 IP start in G5
— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) October 18, 2020
He's the 4th pitcher in postseason history to make a winner-take-all start on 1 day rest after a start, joining:
1947 WS Spec Shea
1940 WS Bobo Newsom
1934 WS Dizzy Dean
Each went 8+ IP in prior start
Dean threw a complete game shutout. Newsom threw well, but got outpitched. Shea didn’t last two innings, but his team won anyway.
And all of those were more than 70 years ago. So, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
TV: Fox-TV (check local listings). Announcers: Joe Davis, John Smoltz, Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci
