With the Cubs season over, and the postseason almost half completed, we are about to find ourselves once again in the long stretch of the offseason than non-fans call “winter.” Along with the snow, comes all of the uncertainty and questions about who will stay, who will go, whose contract is over and if they’ll pick up those 2021 team options (Rizzo, most certainly!), or if the team will actually spend any money before spring training (much less certain).
While we can’t know who will be signed or traded over the offseason, we still have the fresh memories of 2020 — abbreviated as the season was — to give us a glimpse into what to expect next year.
So given what we know, and where the team was this season, which one (or two) people in the organization do you think are the most vital to the team’s success next year, and why? It doesn’t necessarily need to be a player, it can be the manager, ownership, Theo, or anyone you can think of who might need to step up in order for the team to succeed in 2021.
Head over to the FanPost section, select “New FanPost” on the left, and then tell us who you think will need to make the biggest splash next year. Feel free to brag about it a lot in November 2021 if your person was a huge part of the team’s success.
