Note that there’s no game time listed in the headline here. There’s a specific reason for that: The game vs. Cleveland in Goodyear starts at 2:05 p.m. CT. The game vs. Cincinnati in Las Vegas starts at 3:05 p.m. CT. I’ll post a recap of both games after the Vegas game ends.
This is the Cubs’ first visit to Las Vegas since 2018, and thus their first visit to Las Vegas Ballpark, which opened for the 2019 season. The Cubs’ first visit to Vegas was in 1993 and they are 17-14 all-time in Las Vegas exhibition games.
Note that some of the players in the lineups and as pitchers today were in Friday’s roster cuts. Soon, minor-league games will begin, until then, some of these players will still appear in big-league spring games, especially the next two days with a split squad.
Here are the rest of today’s particulars.
Descalso 2B, Almora CF, Baez SS, Souza DH, Caratini C, Perez LF, Rivas 1B, Garcia RF, Short 3B
Indians lineup:
Lindor SS, Hernandez 2B, Ramirez 3B, Santana 1B, Reyes LF, Santana DH, Zimmer CF, Leon C, Johnson RF
Bryant 3B, Rizzo 1B, Phegley C, Happ CF, Hoerner SS, Kipnis 2B, Cuevas RF, Higgins DH, Miller LF
Reds lineup:
Winker LF, Moustakas 2B, Ervin RF, Aquino CF, Van Meter 1B, Farmer SS, Colon DH, Blandino 3B, Stephenson C
Kyle Hendricks will start for the Cubs against the Indians. Cubs relievers in Goodyear: Jharel Cotton, CD Pelham, Ben Taylor and Duane Underwood Jr.
Adam Plutko will go for the Tribe. Indians relievers today: Adam Cimber, James Hoyt, Phil Maton, Jean Carlos Mejia, Anthony Gose (yes, the ex-outfielder), Kyle Dowdy and Dominic Leone.
Alec Mills will start for the Cubs vs. the Reds. Cubs relievers in Vegas: Dakota Mekkes, Tyson Miller, Casey Sadler, Ryan Tepera and Rowan Wick.
Tejay Antone starts for the Reds, his second straight outing vs. the Cubs (he also faced the Cubs Wednesday in Goodyear). Reds relievers: Josh Smith, Cody Reed, Amir Garrett, Robert Stephenson and Lucas Sims.

Today’s game in Las Vegas vs. the Reds is on the Marquee Network. Here is a complete channel guide for all the providers currently signed up with Marquee. Note that it is possible some of these channels might not be up and running right away. This is new to all of us and I would anticipate glitches. Hopefully it all gets squared away by Opening Day, including Marquee deals with Comcast and YouTube TV, among others.
No radio/online audio for the Vegas game.
Today’s game in Goodyear vs. the Indians is on 670 The Score. It’s also on 1100 WTAM in Cleveland with the Indians announcers. No TV for Cubs/Indians.

Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn’t usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season — usually, it will update after each at-bat.
Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.
Please visit our SB Nation Reds site Red Reporter and Indians site Let’s Go Tribe. If you do go there to interact with Reds or Indians fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.
For spring-training games, we’ll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 2 p.m. CT and 3:30 p.m. CT. One set of threads for both games today.
These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked ”Chicago Cubs Game Threads” at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher boxes and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
