Well, our simCubs outlasted the simBrewers in a game that clearly could have lasted longer and been uglier. Ryan Yarbrough got the win, his seventh, and a clutch of relievers made things interesting.
Kyle Schwarber and Willson Contreras went deep, and Nico Hoerner continued his fine play. Again we had some technical difficulties but all’s well that ends well and the Cubs are looking for meatloaf for Sunday dinner.
Today, Lauer versus Lester. Al will have more in the game post (at 2:30 p.m. CT, for our 3 p.m. start). I’ll drop the specific URL to the contest in the game thread, but you can lurk at the BCB Media Center and catch it there as well. All past games and highlights reels are available there too, if you want the full #simCubs experience.
And now, here’s Cub Tracks News and Notes, the only links column that really matters. As always, * means autoplay on, or annoying ads, or both (directions to remove for Firefox and Chrome). {$} means paywall. {$} means limited views. Italics are often used here as sarcasm font.
Join my family and I for our virtual Cook-Off for Cancer. Learn to cook an authentic Italian meal from Chef Tentori and ask questions along the way. I'll be there in my apron. See you all Friday. @Cubs pic.twitter.com/8YOz8daDN4

- Tim Stebbins (NBC Sports Chicago*): Jon Lester: MLB, union ‘bending over backwards’ to finalize health protocols. “... we don’t want to rush into this thing and start risking health.”
- Brett Taylor (Bleacher Nation): Is compromise coming for the players and the owners? “I’ll take any bit of optimism I can get right now ...”
- Evan Altman (Cubs Insider*): Will Cubs extend qualifying offer to José Quintana following 2020 season? “... there are several factors involved that I believe will conspire against Q getting a QO.”
- Steve Greenberg (Chicago Sun-Times* {$}): Polling Place: If the Cubs need a DH in 2020, is Kyle Schwarber the obvious answer? “Schwarber has made it clear he doesn’t want to end up in that role ...”

A new device that mimics the human eye’s structure is about as sensitive to light and has a faster reaction time than a real eyeball.
