Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers simulated game, Sunday 8/9, 3 p.m. CT

With the real Cubs and Cardinals postponed this weekend, we continue our simulated season.

If you buy something from an SB Nation link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

Our simulated 162-game Cubs 2020 season has continued, even while the real Cubs went out to a 10-3 start in their actual 60-game season.

Now that the entire real Cubs vs. Cardinals weekend series has been postponed because of another positive COVID-19 test for a Cardinals player, we present today’s simCubs game against the simBrewers.

We are going to continue these daily simulations even while the real games continue. No matter what happens to the actual 2020 MLB season, we will play out the entire simulated season offline and let you know the results.

Here is the complete BCB Mediacenter where all our BCB simulated games are located. You can watch previous games which are all archived there, but please note: We won’t have the actual link to the live broadcast of today’s specific game until it starts. At that time, Duane will drop the direct link into the comments to this post around 3 p.m CT. Until then you can use the link in this paragraph as a guide to where to find the game. All of our simulated games will begin at 3 p.m. CT.

Here are today’s particulars.

This is Game 119 of the 2020 simulated season, Cubs vs. Brewers at Miller Park, the second of a three-game series. The Cubs enter today with an 83-35 record. The Brewers are 66-50.

Ryan Yarbrough will start for the Cubs. Freddy Peralta will start for the Brewers.

Today’s lineups:

Rizzo 1B, Bryant 3B, Baez SS, Schwarber LF, Contreras C, Happ CF, Heyward RF, Kipnis 2B, Yarbrough P

Cain CF, Sogard 3B, Yelich LF, Hiura 2B, Garcia RF, Gyorko SS, Smoak 1B, Pina C, Peralta P

There won’t be any traditional-style “recaps” of these games. Duane will post some highlights in his Cub Tracks and Baseball history unpacked posts the morning after each game, so we can track this simulated season as it unfolds. We’ll post the standings from time to time.

Enjoy, and discuss amongst yourselves.
