Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Cubs fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

Heading into the final series of the regular season, fans in Chicago were starting to get nervous. According to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey, fan confidence in the Cubs fell to 50 percent going into the weekend set against the White Sox.

Hopefully, that number will have gone up a bit after Friday’s big blowout of the Sox. Just one week ago, 73 percent of Cubs fans had confidence in the team’s direction.

While the Cubs have already clinched a playoff berth and are very close to another NL Central title, things will likely get a lot tougher next year assuming things get back to normal. This year, MLB expanded the postseason to eight teams in each league. Fans in the most recent survey, however, would like to see that go back to only five per league in 2021.
