SimNews:
The simCubs meatloafed their way into the off-day, having been stymied against Johnny Cueto on one of his good days and not getting quite enough revenge against the porous Giant bullpen once Cueto had thrown 100+ pitches and had to depart. Still, Jason Heyward doubled in two runs in the seventh, and Kyle Schwarber crushed a dramatic two-run homer in the eighth to get the Cubs close.
Friday the Cubs will face the Reds in the first of three. Yu Darvish will take the hill against Sonny Gray, who beat the Cubs last time out. SimYu needs to get things going in the stretch drive — he’s been early 2019 Yu all year.
The game is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT. All game video and related material is available commercial-free, 24/7, at the BCB Media Center.
