For us as Cubs fans, I’m pretty sure I know who you don’t want to win this game.
On the other hand, the Dodgers aren’t exactly a favorite team among most Cubs fans.
On the other other hand, if the Dodgers win they have to play the Giants in the division series so you’ll be able to root against them then.
This is, at the very least, a fantastic pitching matchup between two veteran pitchers with a ton of postseason experience and one World Series ring each (Wainwright, 2006 — he missed the entire 2011 season when the Cardinals also won — and Scherzer, 2019).
I’d expect a low-scoring affair. The Cardinals are hot, having won 19 of their last 22. The Dodgers, though, won 106 regular-season games, the most wins ever for a second-place team, and were basically just as good finishing the season — 18-3 after September 9.
The Dodgers won four of seven from the Cardinals during the regular season (and outscored them 42-20), taking two of three at Dodger Stadium in late May/early June and splitting four in St. Louis in September, just about a month ago. The Dodgers’ two wins over the Cardinals in that series were the last time this year anyone beat St. Louis two straight until the Cubs did it on the season’s final weekend.
Here’s everything you need to know for tonight’s game.

Today’s game is on TBS. Announcers: Brian Anderson, Ron Darling and Lauren Shehadi. This is a solid postseason announcing team and you’ll certainly hear these three on one of the NL division series and the NLCS, as TBS will be carrying all the NL postseason games.
