Two former Cubs No. 1 draft picks will lead the team’s contingent to the Arizona Fall League later this month. The schedule begins a week from today, October 13.

Ryan Jensen, who was the Cubs’ No. 1 pick in 2019, posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.065 WHIP in 16 starts combined for High-A South Bend and Double-A Tennessee this past season.

Brendon Little, one of two first-round picks the Cubs had in 2017, posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.392 WHIP in 26 relief appearances split between Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa this year. He struck out 53 in 41⅔ innings.

Other Cubs prospects going to the AFL: righthander Caleb Kilian, who the Cubs acquired in the Kris Bryant deal; righthander Danis Correa; infielders Luis Vazquez and Andy Weber; and outfielder Nelson Velazquez.

The Cubs prospects will play on the Mesa Solar Sox, who play home games at Sloan Park, along with prospects from the Athletics, Blue Jays, Marlins and Orioles.

Here are more details on this year’s AFL, including a schedule as well as notes on some of the experimental rules that will be used in games.
