All four division series are in action today.
The Astros thoroughly dominated the White Sox in Game 1 of their series, and the Sox send Lucas Giolito to the mound to try to even things up. He threw a complete game three-hitter (one run allowed) against the Astros in Chicago July 17.
Framber Valdez, Houston’s starter, has been pretty consistent all year, and has not faced the White Sox since a 2⅔-inning relief appearance May 23, 2019. Oddly, Giolito was the Sox starter in that game, too.
This thread will serve as your discussion place for the two afternoon games. Another thread for Friday’s pair of evening/night games will post here at 5 p.m. CT.
