There’s a new bobblehead honoring new Cub Joc Pederson

Joc Pederson is having himself a great spring in his first year with the Cubs. In seven games he’s hitting .529/.600/1.471 (9-for-17) with five home runs.

In honor of one of the newest Cubs, the folks at FOCO have created a bobblehead of Joc, complete with road sign headed to Chicago. Here’s a larger version of the image at the top of this post:

You can get a closer look at this bobblehead and place pre-orders here. The FOCO folks say this will ship sometime in May.

The Cubs signed Pederson to a one-year, $7 million contract at the end of January. The deal has a mutual option for $10 million in 2022, or a $2.5 million buyout. (There are also incentive clauses that will pay Pederson $125,000 each for reaching 500, 525, 550 and 575 plate appearances.)

It’s early in the spring and spring numbers, as you surely know, likely don’t reflect the regular season. But Pederson does appear to be a man on a mission and if he has a good 2021, I’d think the Cubs would exercise that option.

In the meantime, you can get this fun bobblehead.
