SITE NOTE: Comments (as you have probably noticed) are currently deactivated. This is a network-wide outage. I am hoping they will be back by game time, but at this time there’s no specific time for restoring them. If you want to keep track of what they’re doing regarding this issue, click here.
UPDATE at 5:15 p.m. CT — comments are back!
Not too many regulars in tonight’s lineup, which isn’t surprising given that this is an away night game followed by a home day game. We should see those guys tomorrow.
We will get our first look at Trevor Williams in a Cubs uniform tonight. He should go two innings.
I have not heard specifically, but I believe tonight’s game will go seven innings.
Here are today’s particulars.
Cubs lineup:
Happ CF, Hoerner 2B, Vargas SS, Bote 3B, Romine C, Ortega RF, Wisdom DH, Rivas 1B, Hermosillo LF
Dodgers lineup:
Betts RF, Seager SS, Pollock LF, Rios DH, Barnes C, McKinstry 2B, Davidson 1B, Neuse 3B, Outman CF
Trevor Williams will start for the Cubs tonight. Other Cubs pitchers scheduled tonight (not necessarily in this order): Cory Abbott, Joe Biagini, Rex Brothers, Trevor Megill, Michael Rucker and Jerry Vasto.
Our old Brewers pal Jimmy Nelson will start for the Dodgers. Other Dodgers pitchers tonight: Blake Treinen, Ryan Pepiot, Victor Gonzalez, Josiah Gray and Edwin Uceta.
Today’s game is on SportsNet LA with the Dodgers announcers. If you have MLB.TV, you should be able to watch (no blackouts). It’s also being picked up by MLB Network.
Please note that during spring training, Gameday doesn’t usually go pitch-by-pitch as it does during the regular season — usually, it will update after each at-bat.
Here is the complete MLB.com Mediacenter for today.
Please visit our SB Nation Dodgers site True Blue LA. If you do go there to interact with Dodgers fans, please be respectful, abide by their individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans in general and BCB in particular.
For spring-training games, we’ll have a first-pitch thread at five minutes to game time and one overflow thread, 90 minutes after game time (because I know how you all like overflow threads!). For today, that will be 7 p.m. CT and 8:30 p.m. CT.
These threads will not post individually onto the front page; instead, you can find links to them in the box marked ”Chicago Cubs Game Threads” at the bottom of the front page. There will also be a StoryStream on the front page with all the game thread links, as well as the recap after the game is over. The pitcher photos and regular-season stats will return on Opening Day.
Discuss amongst yourselves.
