The Cubs have added another lefthander to the bullpen Sunday. Kyle Ryan was recalled from Triple-A Iowa.

Cory Abbott, who threw 65 pitches Saturday, was optioned to Iowa. To make room on the 40-man roster for Ryan, Robert Stock was designated for assignment.

Ryan begins his fourth stint with the Cubs this season and has no record with a 3.38 ERA in three relief appearances, walking two and striking out two. He was designated for assignment May 7, and outrighted to Iowa, May 9. In 13 outings with Iowa this season, Ryan is 2-0 with one save, a 1.93 ERA and a .080 WHIP while striking out 22 compared to five walks.

Ryan will be available for Sunday's game. Hopefully, he won't be needed.
