Cubs roster moves: Eric Sogard, Kohl Stewart to IL, Trevor Williams activated, Sergio Alcántara recalled

The Chicago Cubs today placed infielder Eric Sogard (left thumb contusion) and right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart (right elbow inflammation) on the 10-day injured list. The team has activated Trevor Williams from the 10-day injured list and recalled infielder Sergio Alcántara from Triple-A Iowa.

For now, Williams probably throws out of the bullpen, unless he gets slotted in for a start over the weekend against the Cardinals.
