As you surely know, Jake Arrieta has had a rough go of it thus season, including a stint on the injured list with a hand abrasion.
Late Wednesday, the Cubs placed Arrieta back on the injured list with right hamstring tightness and recalled righthander Cory Abbott from Triple-A Iowa.
In four appearances for the Cubs this year, Abbott has a 4.32 ERA and 1.500 WHIP with six strikeouts.
It seems likely that Trevor Williams, who threw 75 pitches in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies, will take Arrieta's next turn in the rotation Sunday against the Cardinals.
As always, we await developments.
