Cub Tracks slings the rock

#Cubs, #MLB, and #MiLB news and notes. The market continues to move like a turtle with a piano on its back. I just need a sign.

Welcome to today’s episode of Cub Tracks news and notes™, a greatest-hits collection of Chicago-style beat writers and bloggers, ground from #Cubs, #MiLB, and #MLB baseball, overheated, steeped in writers’ tears, and then cold-brewed overnight for maximum flavor.

I’m about tired of hearing about the 480 million dollar man and would like something else to talk about. Maybe something even John Hiatt hasn’t thought of. I’m tired of Belli dancing and Belli-aching. I NEED A SHRUBBERY!

I mean a signing. Someone of consequence. The Cubs have subtracted one of their best pitchers and two of their best position players from a team that didn’t/quite make the playoffs. What, then we expect to be better?

Doesn’t add up. Add Jorge Alfaro on a minor-league deal. The needle doesn’t even think of quivering.

And the SI gamethreading wormholes continue to festoon my searches with their odious nonsense.

I’m liable to stop using soft words.

Can the Cubs just sign Bellinger and get it over with?

Come on, now. Don’t sign him in Heyman’s mind, do it in real life. Go all super-saiyan on us fans, Jed.
