Losses and wins by Cubs relievers

Cubs relievers have accumulated 13 losses so far this year, tied with the woeful Athletics for the most among all 30 teams.

Only 2 other National League teams, the Giants and Reds, have even 11. So do the Angels and White Sox.

The Twins have 12.

The Red Sox have only 3 such losses; the Brewers, 4; and the Dodgers, Mets and Pirates, 5.

The average of the 29 other teams is 7.8.

At their current pace, Cubs relievers would finish the season with 47 losses.

That would demolish their previous high of 36, set just last year.

They lost 35 games in 2000, 33 in 1997 and 31 in 4 seasons: 1986, 2013, 2019 and 2021. They had 30 losses in 1983.
