Cub Tracks‘ how tweet it is

Typically acerbic #Cubs, #MLB, and #MiLB news and notes, links and discussion, plus scientific food for thought. The Cubs’ new pitcher is already popular. The Cubs Convention is ON.

Welcome to today’s episode of Cub Tracks news and notes™, a greatest-hits collection of Chicago-style beat writers and bloggers, ground from #Cubs, #MiLB, and #MLB baseball, overheated, steeped in writers’ tears, and then cold-brewed overnight for maximum flavor. Dave’s probably here. Thanks for coming.

Newly acquired Brian Serven was DFA’d as the Cubs reeled in some bigger fish, just in time for the Cubs Convention to get going. Bad weather in Chicago will possibly affect attendance but certainly there will be plenty of Cubs fans on hand.

The Cubs’ roster still retains some fluidity — there’s still need for a third sacker and more relief. Christopher Morel is again rumored to be on the move. There may still be developments.

At least they’ve made steps to shore up the team and move it toward possible playoff appearances. There’s something to talk about. John Hiatt would be pleased. Steve Goodman, too.
